Closedown
Hello, my friends—I’m writing to let you know that I’ve decided to close this publication for the time being. Nothing more is planned for publication here.
For a while, I’ve felt a strong aversion toward even glancing at this platform; and I feel that’s mostly what people do on here: glance at, scroll for a bit, skim. A new post appears in your feed or inbox. Do you even open it? Or just scroll on down through the Notes. No, I don’t need another Twitter.
Perhaps I could do better to submit my writing to other publications. But in truth, I’m not drawn to the short form. I’m not especially interested in writing essays, criticism, journalism, or short stories—which isn’t to say that I might not still do those things. But it’s not the real work. The real work for me is the novel, which I’ve been working on sporadically now for a year and am committed to finishing.
Additionally, you may or may not have already heard that I’m founding a literary journal titled Arrivant. Our debut issue will be in print only, and we’re open for submissions until January 1st, 2026. You may email any short fiction, essays, poetry, or visual art you would like us to consider to journalarrivant@gmail.com. Contributors will be paid. We are on Twitter and Instagram @journalarrivant.
Everything published here will remain behind a paywall. Thus, A Collection of Sea Glass can be considered as a completed work, a sort of digital chapbook which is available to read for $5. There are 14 short stories, seven essays, and five short films. Perhaps at some point I’ll try to put it out in print, or in some other format.
Onto realer things. Thank you for reading, and goodbye for now.
